RUL alarms will be accompanied by a voice announcement to advise library patrons, eg. for a Fire Alarm or General Security Alert. Patrons are to exit immediately via the emergency exits. Library staff will guide patrons to the nearest exit per floor and/or section, and in accordance with the voice announcements. Library staff will instruct students to gather in designated areas outside the library.

Remember a calm & quick exit is best for your safety and the safety of others.

Please note if a student is seated near an emergency exit and the alarm over the door goes off, please contact the nearest library staff member.

An alarm going off at the entrance/exit point on L1 will be dealt with by the security guard and L1 library staff. Thus these alarms can be ignored unless you are the patron who has set off an alarm.
