Question :

What is the 0 Week programme in the library?

Answer :

#RULibraryOWeek

The RUL O Week programme introduces all first year and other new students to the library!  including the physical space, resources, and staff.

General library information Presentations take place from Monday to Friday, coinciding with the times of the O Week departmental presentations. New students are also strongly encouraged to sign up for Library Literacy Workshops, (hands on learning for finding information) which take place in the Library's Xstrata training room L2, from Wednesday afternoon through to Friday on the hour 9am-4pm.

First year students have fun finding their way around the library via the Amazing Place self guided tour. On completion students may submit their entry form into the Amazing Place competition (prizes include a tablet, external hard drives & flash sticks), and can also collect a goodie bag and year planner. In 2016 students received attractive purple & white pencil cases (with the Rhodes rhodent logo), timetable, notebook & pen.

'O Week' or Orientation Week usually takes place the week before the first teaching term starts in mid February, and aims at orientating incoming students to their new university surrounds.
