The best database to use is SA Media which can be Accessed via the Economics Subject Guide using the databases, e-resources and articles tab http://ru.za.libguides.com/c.php?g=174178&p=1148223.  Enter the commodity that you are looking for into the first search box and in the second one type the following search string (Pric* OR cost).  Select the date range that you require by using the "date from" and "date to" boxes on the right hand side of the page.  Select search.
